What is Gastroenterology
 

Gastroenterology is the study of the digestive system, which includes the organs of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and also the study of the diseases which may affect these organs and their remedies. Included is a wide spectrum of disorders ranging from acute diseases such as gastroenteritis and traveler's diarrhea, to more chronic such as peptic ulcer disease, hepatitis, ulcerative colitis, gallbladder disease, cancers, and polyps of the colon.
